Have you ever had this movie scene that you liked in a movie and wanted to show just that part to other people? It can be a hassle to keep moving the movie controller back to the spot where there part starts. Thats why movie clippings are much more useful nowadays.

Simply, it works like this: you grab the specific starting and ending time of the clip you want and let the computer do the cutting for you. But before you start grabbing the movies with the scenes you loved the most, I'll be showing you guys how to trim those movies.

Again, I will be using Quicktime X for this which is a standard application for every Mac with Snow Leopard on it. So you don't really have to search around the internet for this application.

1. Locate the movie file you want to grab a scene from.

2. Look for the Trim function on Quicktime X.

I have a habit of having to re-install OS X and start anew every now and then. Generally for purposes such as my computer is starting to slow down a lot or if I'm running out of hard drive space. Part of the ritual is rebuilding my Applications collection. These are my essentials, and I think they will be as essential to me as they are to you.

Adium, a multiple instant messaging client that I have fun using. It's a highly customizable application as you can switch background to whatever you feel or to include fonts that seem funky. Adium also supports many different services such as ICQ, Yahoo! Messenger, MSN and others.

One of the most common question (older) people ask me is, "how do I download that video from YouTube?" There are hundreds and thousands of wonderful and inspiring videos out there and being able to save them on to your computer seems like a great idea. Especially if you want to show other people, watch them later or just for safe keeps. So how exactly do you download a file from YouTube?

I will be splitting this introduction into three parts: 1) Getting the file(s) you need. 2) Downloading the video, and then 3) Converting the video.
